Notification for establishment of
Saidu Medical College Swat was issued on November 3rd 1998; following
announcement of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, in the Assembly Budget
Session 1998.99.The College was formally inaugurated on
11.10.1999.
First batch of 50 students were
admitted in December 1998 and classes resumed on 28.12.1998.Within 4 months
period the Departments of Anatomy, Physiology and Biochemistry were established
in the 1st Phase, now having all the basic and clinical departments as well.
